Mercedes is delivering a serious riposte to the BMW M3 with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance. Drawing on its F1 experience, the C 63 S E combines a 2-liter, 469 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder — the world’s most powerful four — with a hybrid electric system for a total output of 671 horsepower and 752 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 is quoted at 3.3 seconds.

The car features the AMG-exclusive AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with rear-wheel steering that continuously varies torque between front and rear wheels depending on grip and includes a drift mode for tail-happy fun — without worrying about developing any throttle control in your right foot.

The C-Class shell has been modified, growing 3.3 inches in length with a 3-inch wider front track. Inside is all the luxury and tech expected in a Mercedes, with the latest MBUX infotainment system and AMG Performance seats.
