Aston Martin’s N°001 Minami Aoyama Debuts in Tokyo

Aston Martin has officially opened the doors to its first ultra-luxury private residence in Asia — N°001 Minami Aoyama, a four-level architectural statement located in Tokyo’s elite Omotesandō district. Designed in close collaboration with VIBROA Inc., Japan’s premier high-end real estate developer, this landmark project marks the latest in Aston Martin’s growing global portfolio of luxury real estate, joining Miami’s Aston Martin Residences and The Astera on Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island. More than just a home, N°001 Minami Aoyama is a physical embodiment of Aston Martin’s signature design philosophy: performance-born proportions, precision engineering, and exquisite craft, now reimagined for modern urban living.

Spread across 724 square meters (7,793 square feet) and arranged over three stories with a substantial excavated basement, this one-of-a-kind residence was created as a serene retreat from Tokyo’s dynamic city energy. Its design channels light, movement, and intention — mirroring the design language of Aston Martin’s most elegant performance machines. The façade presents a sculptural display of vertically aligned chamfered metal louvers, engineered to both shield and reveal, shifting with sunlight throughout the day to animate the structure while preserving privacy. From the outside, hints of rippled mirrored ceilings and curated planting whisper the home’s true luxury behind the veil.

As you move inward, the space unfolds like a tailored suit — deliberate, seamless, and deeply sensory. Every floor is a composition of material richness and spatial rhythm: from carbon-fiber-inspired textures to lava stone finishes, from black oak cabinetry to Hinoki wood spa cladding. The interior’s centerpiece is a dramatic folded steel staircase, echoing the elegance of Japanese origami. It connects each level like a suspended ribbon of light and shadow, rising from the internal zen garden and basement gallery to the rooftop oasis above.

True to Aston Martin’s heritage, the ground floor houses an automotive gallery, not merely a garage. Behind adaptive lighting and wave-textured metal ceilings sit two dedicated display bays designed not for storage, but celebration. A special glass vision panel allows these sculptural supercars to be viewed from the lounge and meeting space inside, merging the boundaries of art, lifestyle, and machine.

Ascending to the top, residents are welcomed into a private rooftop terrace framed by lush landscaping, a green roof, and uninterrupted sunset views. With a full outdoor kitchen, spa bath, and curated seating, the terrace is both a tranquil escape and an entertainer’s paradise — one that offers views of Tokyo Tower framed like a painting across the skyline.

Furnishings and finishes have been hand-selected under the guidance of Aston Martin’s design studio. Collaborating with Italian design house Molteni&C, the team curated a selection of bespoke wardrobes, black lava stone kitchen surfaces, nebula steel detailing, and pewter finishes throughout. A fully integrated Bowers & Wilkins audio system envelops the space in immersive sound, extending Aston Martin’s commitment to performance into the sensory experience of the home. In the first-floor spa, guests will find Hinoki timber-lined walls, a custom-designed sauna and spa bath, and a private outdoor Onsen pool for restorative immersion.

VIBROA’s role extends beyond bricks and mortar. The company offers complete lifestyle management, including property maintenance, private banking introductions, family education support, and personalized concierge services — creating a new era of holistic, design-led luxury living.

For Aston Martin, N°001 Minami Aoyama is more than a real estate project. It’s a cultural landmark—signaling the marque’s deepening commitment to Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Following the Spring 2024 debut of the Aston Martin Ginza showroom at The Peninsula Tokyo, this private residence further cements the brand’s position not just as a manufacturer of performance automobiles, but as a curator of lifestyle excellence.

“In Tokyo, we found a creative language that mirrors our own — clean lines, purity of form, and quiet power,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer. “This residence is a sanctuary. A design where proportion, material, and emotional precision meet.”
