It is time to bid adieu to the Chiron in all its 1,500 horsepower glory. The Chiron is the direct descendent of the Veyron, the car that normalized quadruple-horsepower figures and the rightful heir to the hypercar throne. But every king must fall, and the last Chiron will be delivered in just a few months. Clad in black with copper accents and the number 16 across the grille, “The final 1,500 hp Chiron” is emblazoned on the door sills and center console.

The buyer wasn’t revealed, but Motor1 reports that Canadian oil and gas executive Bilal Hydrie is the lucky owner, backed up by posts on Hydrie’s Instagram account. It’s important to note that “the final 1,500 hp Chiron” is likely to mean the last of the standard models, with production of higher-powered one-off models continuing. The Chiron isn’t ready to pass the crown quite yet.
