04 Oct THE KAMBANES HOME
Founded by CG artists, Nikolay Antonchik and Alexander Grabalyuk, CYLIND is a Belarus-based outfit specializing in architectural visualization and conceptualization services, taking blueprints, schematics, and plans on paper and brining them to fruition in the form of digitally-rendered concepts. For its latest project, the Minsk company has been called on by Helsinki-based architectural firm, Studio Puisto to bring the Finnish studio’s “Kambanes” house design into digital reality.
Set in the remote countryside of Finland, this residential project consists of an L-shaped first story with an all-brick construction and a concrete courtyard with a hot tub and a rock garden. The design firm has capped the first level of the home off with a second story that follows the same L-shaped design, albeit is mirrored and flipped, and features an outer veneer of vertical wood slats and a slanted roof. Both stories sport large panoramic windows that provide views of the surrounding landscape, as well.
