Air New Zealand is bringing better sleep to long-haul passengers with its Skynest sleeping pods, available for economy-class flyers. The Skynest pods will take the place of five economy seats on the carrier’s 787 Dreamliners, which can then be booked in four-hour blocks.

The bunk-style flat beds sleep four people per pod, with cabin crew cleaning and changing bedding before each booking. Each pod will have a privacy curtain, USB charging, and ventilation “outlets”. Air New Zealand plans to complete the Skynest installation on its 787s by 2024.
