HB+A Architects’ research and development department Box Lab has introduced its zero-energy, zero-carbon home. Head by architect and founder Hafsa Burt, the Box Factory House is designed to be resilient to climate emergencies, producing a truly off-grid project that operates only on renewable energy. Its two volumes were prefabricated off-side to reduce time and waste and are situated to preserve the 9-acre site’s natural ecosystem while taking advantage of the dramatic views.
