08 Apr Chanel J12 Bleu Collection: Celebrating 25 Years with Matte Blue Ceramic Watches

​Chanel has unveiled the J12 Bleu collection, introducing a striking matte blue ceramic to its iconic J12 watch lineup in celebration of the model’s 25th anniversary. This marks the first time the J12 is offered in a color beyond its traditional black and white variants. ​

The development of this distinctive hue required five years of research to achieve a shade that balances between blue and black. Arnaud Chastaingt, director of the Chanel Watch Creation Studio, described it as “a blue that is nearly black or a black that is nearly blue.” ​

The J12 Bleu collection comprises nine limited-edition models, ranging from 28mm to 42mm in diameter. These timepieces feature the new matte blue ceramic and are equipped with either automatic or manual-winding movements, depending on the model. Notable pieces include the J12 Bleu Diamond Tourbillon, which showcases a flying tourbillon adorned with a solitaire diamond at its center, and the J12 Bleu X-Ray, crafted from blue sapphire crystal for a transparent aesthetic. ​

This expansion of the J12 line reflects Chanel’s commitment to innovation in watchmaking materials and design, offering a fresh interpretation of its flagship timepiece.
