Reviving the pure analog feel of an all-time classic like the Lancia Stratos in today’s era of computer-controlled everything is a tall order.

Designed from the ground up purely as a rally car, the Marcello Gandini-penned Stratos’ brutally short wheelbase and mid-engine layout made it a multiple World Championship-winning platform and a thrilling drive on the street in road-going HF Stradale form.

Lancia’s latest revival of the Stratos imagines the car as a high-performance EV, called the Pu+Ra. Premiering in front of the Milan Cassina Store, the Pu+Ra is a smoother take on Gandini’s defined wedge shape. The iconic rear spoiler is now combined with round LED taillights, with a glass wraparound rear window housing a rear seat in a 2+2 configuration.

Two LED strips meet with a vertical strip in a Y-shape at the center of the front end, with exaggerated front fender flares recalling the original Stratos. The Y-shape is repeated in the wheel design, a departure from the Campagnolo coffin-spoke wheels.

Cassina collaborated with Lancia on the interior, with inspiration from Italian homes resulting in two “tea tables” for front and rear passengers. Lancia offered no word on whether there are any plans for putting the Pu+Ra into production.
