In October 2024, luxury automotive brand Mercedes-Benz, renowned fashion house Moncler, and esteemed Japanese designer NIGO unveiled the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future SUV, a limited-edition vehicle that seamlessly blends automotive excellence with high-fashion aesthetics. This exclusive SUV, limited to just 20 units, is based on the modern G 450d and G 550 models and showcases a distinctive two-tone exterior in green and grey, complemented by black accents. The interior features checkered upholstery, paying homage to vintage G-Class designs, and a rear-mounted spare wheel adorned with the collaboration’s unique logo. ​

The G-Class Past II Future SUV draws inspiration from a one-off 1991 G-Wagen conversion led by NIGO, the founder of BAPE, in collaboration with Moncler. This bespoke project served as the catalyst for the broader partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Moncler, culminating in both the limited-edition SUV and an accompanying apparel collection. ​

Complementing the vehicle, the Moncler x Mercedes-Benz by NIGO apparel collection offers a range of gender-neutral pieces that merge Moncler’s mountain heritage with Mercedes-Benz’s automotive legacy. The collection includes varsity jackets, bomber jackets, flannel over-shirts, and denim sets, all featuring archival Mercedes-Benz imagery and Moncler’s signature design elements. The launch event for this collaboration took place at the newly opened Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan flagship dealership, where the 20 exclusive SUVs were presented to their owners.
